We experience this as we seek a clearer sense of self and an understanding of our role in society. And, just as we search for a sense of self in society, we also constantly struggle in a search for a clearer sense of who we are in Christ. I AM
When Jesus used the phrase "I AM," He made specific revelations regarding His identity and nature. These revelations made it clear to all that He was claiming to be much more than a rabbi or prophet; Jesus claimed to be the Messiah—God in human form. This series explores the seven references in John's Gospel, that Jesus makes of Himself using "I am."
Psalms
The book of Psalms expresses worship. Throughout its many pages, Psalms encourages its readers to praise God for who He is and what He has done. The Psalms illuminate the greatness of our God, affirm His faithfulness to us in times of trouble, and remind us of the absolute centrality of His Word. The portrayal of worship in the Psalms offers us glimpse after glimpse of hearts devoted to God, individuals repentant before Him, and lives changed through encounters with Him.

Paul's Prayers
One way that each of us can grow in our prayer life is to model our prayers after a mature believer. Besides observing the prayers of Christ, there may be no better person to turn to as a prayer model than the Apostle Paul. Paul recorded many Spirit-inspired prayers throughout the thirteen New Testament books he authored. Get Set
The calendar is a great grace to us in that it allows for us to make some decisions that have seriously long term benefits – eternal benefits in fact. We get to make some short term decisions about how we spend our time, talent and treasure in 2017 that can affect the kingdom of God. The point of our existence is not the pursuit of happiness but rather to fulfill that which God has planned for us. This means that our lives are best spent when we do what God wants us to do rather than just pursuing our best life in terms of pleasure, leisure and worldly success.
Advent
The word “Advent” comes from the Latin word adventus, which means “coming” or “visit.” Advent is a season of waiting, expecting, and hoping. The time before Christmas is Advent, a season of preparation for Christmas. We prepare for celebrating the birth of Jesus by remembering the longing of the Jews for a Messiah. In Advent, we’re reminded of how much we ourselves also need a Savior, and we look forward to our Savior’s second coming even as we prepare to celebrate his first coming at Christmas.

Ephesians
